Running back Nick Chubb has been ruled out ahead of the Browns’ scheduled matchup against the undefeated Cardinals.

Chubb suffered a calf injury during their 47-42 loss against the Chargers last week. He hasn’t returned to practice and was confirmed out Friday morning, according to a report from NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

The two-time Pro-Bowler totaled 161 rushing yards and a 52-yard touchdown on 21 carries before he left the field. He’s totaled 558 yards and has four rushing touchdowns through five games.

Over the summer, Chubb signed a three-year, $36.6 million extension to keep him in Cleveland through 2024. Kareem Hunt is expected to fill his role Sunday against the Cardinals.

Hunt rushed for 61 yards on 11 carries and totaled two touchdowns against the Chargers. The 26-year-old rushed into the end zone for eight yards to give the Browns a 42-25 lead in the fourth quarter before the Chargers retaliated with the game-winning touchdown.
