T.Y. Hilton is ruled out ahead of Sunday Night Football.
After making his 2021 debut during the Colts’ 31-3 win over the Texans, Hilton is confirmed out with a quad injury for the Week 7 Sunday Night matchup against the 49ers.
Hilton was previously listed as questionable, but was ruled out on Saturday after he failed to practice all week. The veteran wide receiver made four catches for 80 yards before he injured his quad during the fourth quarter of the Week 6 victory.
Hilton suffered a disc injury in his neck during training camp that forced him to undergo surgery. The injury caused him to miss the first five games of the season.

Wide receiver Parris Campbell was also placed on injured reserve earlier in the week with a foot injury. The Colts will rely on their backups to make strides against the league’s first-ranked passing defense.
With Hilton out and Campbell on injured reserve, Carson Wentz will utilize Michael Pittman Jr. and Zach Pascal. Pittman totals 39 receptions for 403 yards and one touchdown through five games. Although he didn’t make any receptions against the Texans, Pascal totals 18 receptions for 204 yards with three touchdowns.
